Col, Tam and Jax Tammy and I have been married for 7 years, and are very fortunate to have a wonderful son, Jaxon who is 2½.  Tammy has been actively involved in Triathlon since 1999, working for the Ontario Association of Triathletes and helping out on site at Trisport Canada Subaru Series events.

With my wife being so actively involved in Triathlon, spending 10 weekends each summer at the events, I suppose it was inevitable that I would be drawn into this sport community.  Tammy and I did our first Try-a-Tri race at Bellwood in August 2000 and have been casually racing ever since.  Jaxon did his first kids fun-run this September and we had to bribe with him cookies to get him across the finish line!

After the loss of our daughter Dakota this summer, it was very important for us to do something special in her memory. Tammy felt very strongly about fundraising initiatives and she has been the driving force behind all the event planning.

This process has given us an outlet to talk about Dakota in a constructive manner, which has greatly helped our healing. Many people that have gone through similar circumstances have shared their personal experiences with us. The tremendous emotional support that Tammy and I have received is something that we deeply treasure.

It is our hope that awareness and contributions to this worthwhile cause will be a fitting legacy for Dakota, and that her brief life can have an impact beyond our own family.
